How to Use

1. Download your credit card or bank statement as a CSV file
2. Click "Choose File" and select your CSV
3. Click "Upload & Process" to convert to ledger format
4. Download the resulting ledger file

Supported Banks

This tool is optimized for Chase credit card CSV exports. Other banks may work but results may vary.

About Local Ledger

Local Ledger is a tool that converts bank CSV transaction files into plain text ledger format using AI.

Why Plain Text Accounting?

Plain text accounting offers several advantages:

How It Works

Upload your bank's CSV export, and Local Ledger uses a local AI model (Ollama) to:

1. Parse transaction data
2. Categorize expenses intelligently
3. Format entries in ledger-cli format
4. Clean merchant names

All processing happens on my server. I will neither store nor view any of your personal data.
